11/14/2023 0 Comments Evo smash bros rules umbra clock tower![]() UCT adds another large blast zone stage, similar to Battlefield, with relatively little problems. The overall response was relatively positive. I did a big write up about this a while ago, and I ran it at my local. So let me ask all of you, what actual issues have you seen in tournament so far with this stage? Any legit bannable reasons so far? I personally think a small minority will complain loud enough until a few TOs ban the stage which will then catch on, but I think the added diversity is nice, and seems to be welcomed. There can even be similarities drawn to Yoshi's Island in Brawl and the cloud in Yoshi's Story, but again, no issues there. Furthermore, the transformations are far shorter than another transforming stage our entire community is used to from past games, Pokemon Stadium - which offers no problems. People talk about the walk off platforms and those under the stage, but I've yet to see them cause an issue yet. It's a unique type of platform that offers different play on top of it in keeping away from some opponents, and as far as solid ceilings go, we've seen this legal in Pokemon Stadium for the entirety of Brawl with no issues, and this platform is arguably less intrusive than the windmill since it is out for less time. ![]() If this is truly an issue, should we see the Omega variant banned in rulesets that keep Omegas legal? I guarantee this won't be the case.Īs for the solid platform (which seems to be brought up the most), I fail to see the problem. Additionally, if we keep seeing it counterpicked, it seems like this rarely seems to affect people. Originally I thought the background being so distracting was a very serious problem, and while it was a bit much to me on maybe my first or second time on it, I now have no problem on it really. We typically see one of four common complaints with the stage. ![]() As a side note, this is one of the reasons I was against Halberd being removed, as we typically saw good usage from it in events, and it was fairly different from most other stages. In my opinion when we see a stage often used, it's a good sign of it being a healthy addition to the meta. The layout and attributes of UCT offer something different from any other stage currently legal. We're seeing it pop up in more and more sets, meaning it's not being banned too often, and players are actually finding use in it. The important part here is that the stage is actually seeing use. People seem fairly split on its legality overall since launch, either players complaining that it is garbage, or those that really see no real issue at all.Īt first I was admittedly leaning towards banning it, but since running it at 2 of my tournaments so far and seeing it at KTAR XVII as well, I'm starting to lean towards legal. We've had the stage on at many events for a couple of weeks now, and I want to hear what all of you have seen about it at tournaments.
